Experience efficiency and reliability with the 9mm OSB 3
A versatile panel designed for a multitude of construction applications. This engineered sheet material is composed of multi-layered softwood flakes strategically oriented and hot-pressed, resulting in a durable and adaptable panel.
9mm OSB Board Applications
The unique composition of the OSB, with varying thicknesses and wood species, has earned it the reputation of being the “Swiss Army Knife” of the construction industry. This mish-mash composition contributes to its strength and durability, making it an excellent alternative to plywood. It finds wide-ranging uses in shelving, sheds, display boards, and other domestic applications. Additionally, it proves beneficial in commercial projects such as subfloors and roof decking.
Key Features of the 9mm OSB 3 Sterling Board:
- Moisture Resistance: The OSB 3 is a moisture-resistant panel, making it suitable for both internal and external applications, including roofs, floors, and walls.
- Structural Integrity: The OSB excels in load-bearing and structural applications, making it ideal for wall sheathing, roofing, and flooring. Its durability also makes it a reliable choice for long-term site hoardings.
- Versatility: The 9mm OSB 3 is highly versatile, serving both heavyweight load-bearing construction purposes and domestic decorative applications.
- Easy Installation: Installing OSB boards is hassle-free, as they are easy to drill, nail, file, and sand. They do not require complex equipment or fittings for installation.
- Compliance and Approval: Our structural OSB boards meet the EN 300 performance standards and are BBA approved, ensuring their quality and performance. They also carry FSC/PEFC chain of custody certification, reflecting responsible sourcing.
- Dimensional Consistency: The standard boards come in consistent dimensions of 2397 x 1197 (8ft x 4ft), providing ease and convenience during construction.
Using OSB Boards in Humid Conditions:
While OSB2 boards are suitable for dry conditions, the OSB3 boards excel in more challenging environments, including humid conditions. It is essential to note that OSB boards are not completely waterproof. Therefore, if planning to use them for permanent outdoor applications, it is advisable to add further weather protection.
To enhance weather resistance, apply weather-proof exterior paint to the boards. Follow this with a wood waterproofing sealant, allowing sufficient drying time of 12-14 hours before installation. A second coat can be added if necessary.
